March Earnings Update and New Focus
Time for another update. I think I’m going to do things a little differently from now on. Instead of doing a very detailed break down of the earnings stats for the month, from now on I’ll just do percentages based on the previous months profit. Hope you guys don’t mind the little tweak. In any case with that being said, the month of March has been a great month. On top of the fact that this is my b-day month (I turned 32 this month), many of the affiliate campaigns I’ve been running have faired pretty well. I was beginning to think initially at the beginning of the month that I would not be able to reproduce the numbers I did in February as February’s promotions were very Valentines Day Holiday based. Turn’s out I was wrong and many of my campaigns outperformed their February levels.
Profit for March = 27.19% increase over February Profits
Some quick highlights of March:
1.) Affiliate offers have been pretty stable all month.
2.) Cost Per Click (CPC) costs are down.
3.) SEO Site is dropping in rankings (Google Update dropped me from 1st page)… ![]()
4.) Joined Adbeat.com (advertising network spytool)
Of the quick highlights of the month, the major thing I’d like to talk about is the fact that I joined a private website called www.adbeat.com. This site has a treasure troll of information relating to information gathered while spying on advertisers of over 10 major advertising networks. The site is very similar to a spy tool that I created a few months ago. Where as my tool only spys on the AOL/Adsonar network, Adbeat.com spys on the following ad networks:
- Google,
- Yahoo,
- MSN,
- Doubleclick,
- Adsonar,
- Pulse360,
- BuySellAds,
- Chitka,
- AdBrite,
- ValueClick,
- Adhere,
- TribalFusion
- Technorati
It also has a forum that is really active were people share knowledge and tips about how to best advertise and outdo the competition. My prayer is that I’m able to use my 1-year subscription to help further my online goals.
Going Forward:
So now that March has come and gone its time to focus on what I plan on doing for April. At the time of this posting, its April 11th. So almost 1/2 way through the month what have I been working on and what do I plan to do for the rest of the month? Well to be honest, I think I was trying to do so many things at once that I got a little overwhelmed and have not done much of anything (other than my stable PPC campaigns). Sometimes I have have so many grandiose ideas in my head and on paper, but be paralyzed in my execution of those ideas. Well this past weekend I took it up on myself to start working focusing on ONE new campaign. Notice the word ONE! The reason is that I would really like to get some traction on a n established evergreen market I’m planning on going into and at the same time, create a mailing list that I can continously market too. Something I’ve been neglecting for quite some time. So with the help of an outsourced worker from www.scriptlance.com and a close internet marketing friend, I’m in the process of developing a website that’ll capitalize off a very general market with the express goal of providing a value added service while also monetizing the traffic on the backend. If all goes well, I can report about it in upcoming posts.
Well, that’s all I have to say right now. Please stay tuned to the blog for continued updates. Also, I still plan on doing a set of blog posts that are the “Back 2 Basics” on affiliate marketing.

useful site….im getting started in PPC and seems from your posts you are running on msn/yahoo and not google……..is it because google is more restrictive on landing pages/sites….so are you building basic 1 page landing page for that traffic on msn/yahoo. i think i might have to avoid google for now for starting out
thanks
Yes, thats exactly the reason. Many of my landing pages are very thin. Google likes alot of content on pages and do not like think affiliate sites. Yahoo/Bing are alot less strict on those matters.
